After Bariatric Surgery, there are changes in the amount of food you can eat, which reduces the absorption of some essential vitamins and minerals.

Maintaining good health with the necessary vitamins and minerals will be hard without added help. That's where a lifelong Bariatric Multivitamin formula is recommended*.

Before surgery, we absorb about 40% of calcium. After Weight Loss Surgery (WLS), calcium absorption is heavily reduced to as low as 9%.

Calcium is a critical nutrient as over 99% of calcium is found in bones and teeth. It is vital in promoting

  • Healthy teeth and bones
  • Muscle contraction
  • Fat digestion
  • Protein metabolism
  • A healthy nervous system

The ASMBS Nutritional Guidelines for WLS indicate a calcium citrate supplement is required daily for Bariatric patients. Calcium citrate is more easily absorbed than other forms of calcium.

Your multivitamin and supplements are your health insurance policy to keep you fully energised!
